Abu Dhabi Guide

  • The Emirates Palace Hotel is the national landmark of Abu Dhabi and a magnificent attraction that will catch your eye upon your arrival. Housed in an extravagant building, the hotel is famous for its ultra-luxurious services and includes spas, swimming pools, tennis courts, conference halls, restaurants and bars. Even you don’t have the budget for it, it’s still worth it to go as a visitor.

  • The second most significant landmark of Abu Dhabi, the Sheikh Zayed Mosque dominates the skyline of the city. Painted all white and built in an immense size, the mosque was named after Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, president of the United Arab Emirates for more than 30 years.

It’s worth mentioning that the mosque has 1,000 columns, 80 domes and 4 minarets, all of them covered in precious and semi-precious gems!

If you wish to travel back in time and learn some of Abu Dhabi’s history, we recommend a visit to the Heritage Village. Collections and exhibitions make up a thorough presentation of the history and tradition of Abu Dhabi, focusing on the local people and their lifestyle.

Continue to the Al Maqtaa Fort, built around 200 years ago to reinforce the defences of the city. Apart from its historical value, the fort is a fine example of the traditional architecture, featuring light brown and carved wooden details, remaining in a very well-preserved state.

Finally, you couldn’t leave Abu Dhabi without visiting one of its fabulous beaches. The Al Bateen beach is one of the top picks of the region, especially if you wish to get away from the crowds and enjoy a quiet, pleasant swim.

If you cannot live without parties, events and nightlife, then Abu Dhabi might not be the right place for you. It is though a heaven on earth when restaurants and cafes are concerned!

The official language of Abu Dhabi is Arabic, but the vast majority of the population speak fairly good English.
