    Your day in Alicante begins at the famous Explanada de España, Spain’s largest and most popular palm tree-lined avenue. Encircling Alicante’s port, the avenue is decorated with beautiful mosaics; 6,600,000 coloured stones gather on the ground, forming elegant shapes and figures – a nice place to enjoy a pleasant morning or afternoon stroll.

    Continue to the city’s second most important spot, the old town’s castle. Standing proud at the top of Benacantil’s hill, at an altitude of 166 metres, the Castillo de Santa Bárbara is one of Spain’s largest medieval fortresses, offering breathtaking panoramic views towards Alicante’s bay.

    • The Museu de Arte del Siglo XX Asegurada, founded in 1977 and housed in the city’s oldest building, this museum boasts excellent art collections with works by Miró, Calder, Dalí, Picasso, Chagall and Kandinsky.
