The At-Bristol is one of Bristol’s most interesting venues, housing a very special scientific centre, offering an exciting experience to all members of the family. Through interactive exhibitions, real-time experiments and many other performances, you and your children will have a great time educating yourselves. Don’t forget to visit the planetarium!

Continue to the Bristol City Museum and Art Gallery, undoubtedly Bristol’s most important museum and gallery. Head to the first floor if you wish to see some excellent British and French art, ceramics and decorative arts collections; head to the ground floor to visit the museum’s archaeological, geological and natural history wings. Before you go, you should also visit the Egyptian gallery.

Next stop, the park! Brandon Hill, one of Bristol’s greenest parks, is the perfect place to relax. While you’re there, you’ll notice a tower; it’s the Cabot Tower, built to honour John Cabot (Giovanni Caboto), the Italian explorer who, sailing from Bristol, he came across the land we now know as Canada.

In Bristol, you will find the legendary SS Great Britain, the world’s largest and most technologically advanced steamboat ever been constructed. Guided tours can get you to the ship’s interior or you could take the underwater guided tour, for a panoramic view of the steamboat!

Clifton Bridge is Bristol’s other popular landmark. It was constructed in 1836 by Brunel who, in the meantime died, resulting in the completion of the bridge in 1864. The bridge, apart from its historical value, is still being used by thousands of cars every day.

Bristol’s official language is English.
