Rosario Guide

Rosario is situated in the Paraná Delta, a large region full of small subtropical islets, lakes and smaller rivers. Inhabited almost exclusively by a vast variety of rare animals and plants, the Delta is a sight for shore eyes and will captivate your heart. If you wish to get in touch with nature, you can rent a boat from Rosario’s port and explore this magical region.

Start from the port of Rosario and head to the National Monument of the Flag (Monumento Histórico Nacional a la Bandera), an imposing 70-metre-high blue and white tower.

The tower was built to honour Manuel Belgrano, designer of the Argentinian flag, commemorating the first time the flag waved at that exact location, back in 1812.

Within short distance, the Museum of Contemporary Art of Rosario (Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Rosario - MACRO) is the newest entry in the city’s refurbished port. Housed in a restored silo complex, this cutting-edge museum includes many galleries exhibiting more than 300 paintings, sculptures and other modern works.

Continue to the centre of Rosario, until you reach the Plaza 35 de Mayo, the city’s focal point. Major landmark there is the Cathedral of Our Lady of Rosario (Basílica Catedral de Nuestra Señora del Rosario), beautifully decorated with Stained glass depicting religious scenes.

When you find the Entre Ríos 480 address, it’s time to make your next stop. This is the birthplace of Ernesto “Che” Guevara; this legendary figure of history was born (in 1928) and spent part of his childhood in this house. Though now it is private property, it’s still worth passing by the building.
Rosario’s official language is Spanish.
