    Information about Tel Aviv

Tel Aviv is a city of Israel and it’s located 80 kilometres away from Jerusalem, Israel’s capital. And while Tel Aviv is certainly not Israel’s capital, one could say that everything happens in Tel Aviv, rather than in the capital!

Tel Aviv is Israel’s commercial hub and the second largest economic power in the Middle East – second only to Dubai.

Tel Aviv is a slightly more expensive destination, offering a pleasant and luxurious experience to visitors who wish they could stay there forever!

When you’ve had enough of spoiling yourself with spas, massages and gourmet food, you can continue to the city’s museums, galleries, Bauhaus architecture and incredible choices for nightlife and entertainment.

Tel Aviv’s airport (Ben Gurion Airport) is located 19 kilometres southeast of the city centre and can be reached by train and bus.

    Getting around Tel Aviv

You can get around Tel Aviv by bus, tram and train. Fares start at 2.50 NIS and minimum taxi fare costs around 11.80 NIS.

    Tel Aviv Guide

Tel Aviv’s main square and focal point of everyday life is the Dizengoff Square, dominated by the Fire and Water Fountain, decorating the centre of the square. The fountain was designed by Yaacov Agam in a distinctive op-art style and has innovative installations that offer a dramatic show with fire, water and music.

If you’re an art lover, you will most certainly enjoy a visit to the Tel Aviv Art Museum, boasting exceptional art collections of Impressionist and post-Impressions artists like Picasso, Degas, Pollock, Chagall, Matisse and Gauguin.

Continue to one of Tel Aviv’s most recognisable landmarks; the Azrieli skyscrapers, with their distinctive square, round and triangular peaks looming over the city. If you’ve planned ahead, you can enjoy a coffee, drink or a dinner up the roof of the round one, at an altitude of 187 metres!

To get a glimpse of Tel Aviv’s religious heritage, visit the Hassan Bek Mosque, the St. Peter’s Church and the Jaffa Tower, at the city’s oldest part.

Tel Aviv’s ultimate attraction is not one, but.. 4,000! The White City consists of a beautiful collection of 4,000 Bauhaus buildings, designed by European architects. They date back to the ‘30’s and are a designated UNESCO World Heritage Site!

Tel Aviv also boasts 14 kilometres of fully organised beaches and a paved coastal way for your afternoon strolls. Hotels, boutiques, restaurants and cafes are to be found everywhere around the waterfront. As for the nightlife, Tel Aviv’s fame as a party destination is legendary; this says it all.

Tel Aviv’s official languages are Arabic and Hebrew, but locals speak good English and most of the city’s signs are written in both Hebrew and English.
