Flights from Greece to Vaduz

Liechtenstein is tiny heaven on earth! Right at Central Europe’s heart, the one and only Vaduz is the capital of a Principality whose fame is inversely proportional to its size. Vaduz, like the rest of Liechtenstein, is not served by any airport. As a result, if you wish to search for cheap air tickets to Liechtenstein, you will have to look at the nearby airports, located in other different countries. Vaduz is a beautiful and serene destination, ideal if you’d like to get away from it all and discover a place not heavily hit by the tourism industry. Wander around Vaduz’s streets, climb up the stairs of medieval Mitteldorf and enjoy the view of the Schloss Vaduz, home of the only German-speaking monarch in Europe! Plan your trip early enough, there’s just a handful of hotels in Vaduz!

Vaduz Guide

Vaduz is a small city and can be easily explored on foot. Most of the points of interest are located in the area around the Städtle street and the City Hall (Rathaus).

If you enjoy museums, in Vaduz you will find three exciting options, that will help you understand Liechtenstein’s history and tradition.

  • The Postage Stamp Museum (Briefmarkenmuseum) follows the great tradition of Liechtenstein in postage stamp making for collectors, developed much before the traditional post office was overthrown by e-mails. There, you will find a complete collection of all postage stamps produced the year 1913!

  • Liechtenstein’s National History Museum presents an interesting journey through the country’s history, through permanent and temporary history, culture and natural history exhibitions, spread in an area of three wings and 2,000 sq.m.

  • The National Fine Arts Museum of Liechtenstein (Kunstmuseum Liechtenstein) is housed in a modern building built in 2000. Many of its items have recently been moved to the Vienna Palais Liechtenstein, but you can still enjoy various interesting modern art exhibitions. Collections span a period of time from early 1800 and have already acquired items from the 21st century!

Continue to Vaduz’s ultimate landmark, the Schloss Vaduz, the city’s emblematic castle, dating back to the 12th century.

The Schloss Vaduz was greatly damaged by the Swiss forces in 1499, but was rebuilt in the 16th century. A building of major historical importance, it’s elegantly decorated with antiques and precious works of art. It’s also the official seat of the Prince of Liechtenstein.

Finally, if you wish to see a bit of the old medieval Liechtenstein, head to Mitteldorf, Vaduz’s oldest district. Mitteldorf is situated in an idyllic location with green spaces, cobbled streets and romantic pathways leading to traditional stone houses.

You shouldn’t miss the Red House (Rote Haus), a landmark and symbol of old Vaduz.
Vaduz’s official language is German.
